Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one go and without the need to switch between devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads from a dedicated dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its modest price and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean, complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can is able to clean up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you want for each room.
For example, you can opt for the robot to clean up the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only drawback is that it tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning on the app will reveal precisely what the robot has done, where it is traveling, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
The docking station has a handy LCD screen that indicates the need for maintenance for cleaning up debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It also mixes detergent into the tank in a controlled manner by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. autonomous vacuum can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. And you can see the full cleaning details in the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand, though we would like to be able to differentiate between a vacuum only or mop and vacuum clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot mop and vacuum, is the most recent version. This year's model has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners might overlook.

The Roborock model, like the other two I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It is able to change its path automatically and clean the objects, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tried and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.
The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if necessary), it's a pain to remove the mount itself to wash manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these through the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its intelligent design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry messes. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. Additionally, the X40 is very quiet during it's operation, producing only occasional squeaks of sound when switching modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 also comes with an additional side brush that can be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like chairs and table legs. The robot can also reach under furniture that is low-profile, making it an excellent option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice addition that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by excessive back-and-forth movements.
In contrast to other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming at the same time or individually. It can also be programmed to skip areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, and reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.
The app is simple to use and intuitive, and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, see floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and has many features which make it a good option for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect when the mop pad is filled and alert you before it overflows, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive available however, it comes with numerous additional features that distinguish it from. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and small dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature since it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum s and mop models and could be a great method of keeping your home hygienic for longer.
There are plenty of options, including the option to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app lets you make these settings or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customising your cleaning routine. It also comes with several functions that are not available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on the market, sporting a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing, but it's still not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
